Evaluating the Program
Evaluating
your programs helps determine successes and value, and employee
participation. It also identifies
program shortfalls and opportunities to revise for better outcomes.
Evaluation
methods can focus on the implementation activities or process and/or on the
outcomes achieved. Select a method based
on the level of detail in the plan and available resources.
Process Evaluation measures employee and management
interest and involvement. Examples are
number of classes, number of newsletters distributed, number of program
attendees.
Outcome Evaluation measures program effectiveness
within a target population from the outcomes and behavior changes
reported. Pre- and post-test surveys are
effective to measure success, which can be from short- and long-term behavior
changes.
Examples
include employee behavior change after program completion, six months later,
etc.
