Farmers' Markets and Community Supported Agriculture (CSAs)
Farmers’ markets provide the opportunity to buy fresh, locally grown or produced foods—including vegetables, fruits, meat, dairy items, and other farm products—direct from the grower.
Shopping at a farmers’ market:
- Puts you closer to the source of your food.
- Allows you to ask the grower about how the foods are produced, what’s coming into season, ways to prepare and serve the products, etc.
- Helps build your local economy.
- Contributes to preservation of farmland and open space.
