Assess the Need
A worksite
wellness assessment describes employee health risks and concerns, current
health promotion practices (policies, activities, etc.) and capacities, and
opportunities to reduce risks through current, enhanced, or improved practices.
Assessments
should be made of the organization, the workforce, and the physical
environment. For a comprehensive
assessment, use the tools below:
Organization Assessment-Evaluates current programs, services
and policies, and identifies areas for improvement.
The CDC Worksite Health ScoreCard
Worksite Assessment- Surveys employees on demographics,
health risks, and health and program interests.
National Healthy Worksite Program
Health and Safety Climate Survey (INPUTS)
The CDC Steps to Wellness Employee
Physical Activity Needs and Interest Survey
Environment Assessment-Examines aspects of the physical
workplace, such as facilities and employee settings, as well as access and
opportunities for wellness programs within facilities and surrounding
communities.
