Purpose
To maximize options for improving colorectal cancer
screening by following four essential strategies.

Learning Objectives
1. Explain that the screening recommendation from a provider
is an influential factor for whether a patient is screened for cancer.
2. Determine gaps in care to ensure that patients get the
appropriate recommendation.
3. Map out a plan for improving colorectal cancer
screening rates within their healthcare setting using the "Four
Essentials" for improving screening rates.
4. Utilize resources available to assist primary care
physicians in the implementation of quality screening programs/services.
